CRN Digital Badges
Verifiable Open Badges from the Chaplain Resource Network. Each badge is earned through real completion evidence on the CRN learning platform, carries machine-readable Open Badges 2.0 metadata, and can be confirmed by anyone at its public verification page.
What this badge means
The holder completed the free Chaplain Resource Network lesson Moral Injury and Spiritual Care (CRN-ISS-068), the open door into field-informed chaplaincy formation. This is a Participation badge in the IACET badging taxonomy: it recognizes verified completion of the lesson. It does not represent a scored assessment, and it makes no continuing education claim.
Earning criteria
- Work through every section of the free lesson Moral Injury and Spiritual Care (CRN-ISS-068).
- Submit the end-of-lesson evaluation confirming full completion of the lesson.
Evidence
Each issued badge is backed by the earner's timestamped completion record and lesson evaluation held on the CRN learning platform. Evidence is course-level only: no care-recipient information and no personal formation records are ever attached. Recipient identity inside the badge is a salted hash, never a plaintext address.

What this badge means
The holder completed the full Public Safety Chaplaincy course from the Chaplain Resource Network: eleven lessons covering chaplain identity, the SACRED values, philosophy of ministry, the CARE Method, psychological impacts in public safety careers, resilience and self-care, legal and ethical foundations, communication skills, high-impact scenarios, and capstone integration. This is a Grade-based badge in the IACET badging taxonomy: it is backed by scored assessment evidence for every lesson in the course.
Earning criteria
- Complete every lesson of the Public Safety Chaplaincy course (PS-CH01 through PS-CH11).
- Pass the scored knowledge and practice checks inside each lesson.
- Submit the end-of-lesson evaluation for each of the eleven lessons.
Evidence
Each issued badge is backed by the earner's per-lesson completion set, scored check results, and evaluation records held on the CRN learning platform, plus the CPEI continuing education record where CEUs were purchased. CEU language appears only when a CPEI CEU record backs it. Evidence is course-level only: no care-recipient information and no personal formation records are ever attached. Recipient identity inside the badge is a salted hash, never a plaintext address.

Verification
Every issued badge links to a public verification page confirming the issuer, the recipient's name, the issue date, and revocation status. If you were handed a CRN badge, verify it at the link embedded in the badge itself, or start from the CRN badge verification page.
